On September 12, 2016, a man’s body was found in a wooded area off SR 44 and CR 44A in Eustis. The man was wearing a light-colored shirt with a “CJ Electric” logo, blue jeans, tan lace up boots size 12, eyeglasses, brown baseball cap, and a silver watch on his left wrist. A nearby bicycle was linked to the man and described as silver with a small blue saddle bag. Within his possessions was an ID card with the name Eric J. Johnson, born in 1958. However, the man could not be positively identified as Eric Johnson, and no one by the name Eric Johnson has been reported missing anywhere in the United States. The man’s cause and manner of death are undetermined and his identity is unknown.
