THREE ARRESTED IN ASTOR DRUG BUST
On the morning of March 13, Lake County sheriff's undercover narcotics detectives and the sheriff's SWAT Team served a search warrant at 55543 Fern Road in Astor, this being the home of Tanis MacFarland and Paul Spence.
Mr. Spence and Ms. MacFarland, the main targets of the investigation, were located inside the home along with two other subjects.
During the search of the home, detectives located hydromorphone, marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
MacFarland was charged with possession of hydromorphone with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana over 20 grams with the intent to distribute, possession of a legend drug with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Spence was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
One of the other subjects at the residence, James Russell, was issued a misdemeanor citation for possession of marijuana less than 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation came as the result of several complaints regarding possible drug activity taking place at the home.
