Full Time Dispatcher/911 Public Safety Telecommunicator

DESCRIPTION:
The 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) is an essential part of the Communications Center. The PST has many responsibilities to include: 911 and non-emergency call taking- Receives and makes telephone calls to assist law enforcement and the general public by entering information into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) program Radio Operator- Dispatches and communicates with law enforcement in the field via the radio console and CAD Teletype Operator- Checks/verifies warrants, stolen property, and communicates with other agencies
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be professional and courteous while working within a high stress environment. Must complete the following pre-employment requirements: CritiCall Public Safety Testing Program- Tests typing ability, multi-tasking, map reading, and other essential job functions Must be able to type a minimum of 30 accurate words per minute Drug test Psychological test Background check Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted. Shifts: Shifts rotate from days to nights every 4 months Day Shift- 6AM - 6PM Night Shift- 6PM - 6AM Must be able to work holidays and weekends
