Volunteer Program V.I.S.I.O.N. |
|
(Volunteers, Involved, Serving, Identifying, and Organizing Needs)
The V.I.S.I.O.N. Program began in August of 1996. Every department within the Sheriff's Office uses volunteers to help with tasks from data entry, answering phones, typing, filing, assisting in research, daily senior citizen assurance calls and greeting the public. These volunteers are an important part of the daily operations of the Lake County Sheriff's Office. For an application please contact our Community Services Department at 352-259-1015 or fill out an application online (see below).
The V.I.S.I.O.N. Program places volunteers in
the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the Courthouse, the Detention Center, sub
stations located at Astor, Hawthorne, Lady Lake, and Lake Square Mall. In March
of each year, we express our gratitude with a banquet for the volunteers
contributing to this program. In the year 2006, the V.I.S.I.O.N. volunteers
alone contributed almost 5,800 hours saving the taxpayers of Lake County over $108,866. For those interested in our Volunteer Program please contact Linda McFadden in Community Services at 352-259-1015, send an email to commservices@lcso.org, or click one of the links below.
