South Substation

In an effort to better serve the citizens and local law enforcement in South Lake County the Sheriff is pleased to offer some of the same law enforcement services that you would normally receive in Tavares. From filing a criminal report to just needing advice, the substation will assist you in a professional manner to ensure you receive prompt and courteous service from the Sheriff's staff.

The Sheriff has staffed the Substation with two Lieutenants, two part-time sworn Community Service Deputies, a clerk, four Property Crimes Detectives, one Agricultural Detective, and two Corrections Officers (the correctional section operates around the clock seven days a week processing arrestees for the deputies and officers of local municipalities. This alleviates the long drive to Tavares, allowing the officer or deputy to return back to patrol. The Corrections section also processes all felony and Sexual Offender/Predator registrations. Felony registration and Sexual Offenders/Predator registration is conducted between the hours of 9:00 to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday.
